Sandy Breaks Sound of Silence

Hurricane Sandy breaks deafening Sound of Silence in presidential debates on climate, global warming, environmental rape by oil and gass industry; On Tuesday: Vote for anybody but a Democrat or a Republican or an incumbent

And in the naked light I saw

Ten thousand people, maybe more

People talking without speaking

People hearing without listening

People writing songs that voices never share

And no one dared

Disturb the sound of silence

"Fools", said I, "You do not know

Silence like a cancer grows

Hear my words that I might teach you

Take my arms that I might reach you"

But my words, like silent raindrops fell

And echoed

In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed

To the neon god they made

And the sign flashed out its warning

In the words that it was forming

And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls

And tenement halls"

And whispered in the sounds of silence

[from "Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel by Bob Altzar Djurdjevic 10-27-12]

HAIKU, Maui, Nov 1 - I woke up on Oct 23 with the music "Sound of Silence" in my being. By now, I am used to getting such downloads from the Spirit realm as part of my guidance. "Wonder what that's about?" I said to myself. After five days of contemplation and  mediation I finally got my answer:

"Silence speaks louder than words. Broadcast music from your heart."

Maybe that’s enough? Maybe we don’t need all the words and videos. So I did just that, and broadcast Unconditional Love from my heart to all of you through music. It matters not whether your brain receives the message as long as your heart does.

Sound of Silence - by Bob Altzar Djurdjevic (Oct 27, 2012)

And then came another revelation. The day I received that download of "Sound of Silence" was the day of the last presidential debate. I have tried my best to stay away from the latest round of the "American Demo-Farce", which was the title of my Nov 1996 Washington Times column. Because dark energies thrive on attention. The more attention we give them, the more powerful they become. But I could not help notice the media headlines after that debate.  There was nothing on climate, protection of the environment, global warming... the issues that are essential to the survival of human race and this planet.

And to me, as member of the media myself, the most disheartening part about the debates was the complicity of the moderators (i.e., the media, like Bob Schieffer - left) in this travesty. The only thing worse than a criminal is the person who helps the criminal cover up his dirty deeds.  And allowing the energy industry to go on with fracking, tar sands exploration, etc. - is a CRIME against Mother Nature.

So on Tuesday, she spoke up. She broke the silence and injected herself into the presidential debate. Cloaked as "Sandy," Mother Nature decided to teach humanity a lesson about who is in charge around here. And to deliver it to the World Capital of Greed - New York City. She broke the deafening silence on climate and environment in the presidential debates as she swept with a roar and fury through the most populated parts of the U.S. - the Tristate area. And she turned out the lights on Wall Street - literally (right).

And while the power is expected to be restored to most of Manhattan by Friday night (Nov 2), the suburbs where the Wall Street bosses live will remain dark for another two weeks. Yes, that also means through the national election on Nov 6.

Do you think that's a "coincidence?"

In her wake, Sandy also left us her calling card on a sandy Staten Island beach. It was a 3D picture of the US Energy Policy (left - also see Romney Swings and Misses, Obama Not Much Better,  gaiasteward.org, Aug 2012).

Staten Island is also the sacred ground of America the Beautiful that once was. This is where millions of unwashed immigrants washed ashore in search of freedom and a new life. Under the watchful eye of the Statue of Liberty, they were welcomed by a country whose heart was big enough to be a mother to all - white, black, yellow, brown.

That country exists no more. It has been replace by a plutocracy guided by the Priests of Greed (Wall Street) and ruled by the Princes of Darkness (Washington). Their total and complete "radio silence" on a topic no less important than survival of the human race is proof of where they source their energy. And their energy policy, which allows oil and gas industry to engage in rampant environmental destruction across this great nation and all over the world, is also evidence of their moral and political corruption.

Sandy's timing was no coincidence. Mother Nature chose to deliver her powerful message within a week of our  presidential elections. Proving how powerless man is in comparison to her, she also wanted to show us that our salvation lies in COLLECTIVE action of COMMUNITIES. If we are to survive as a human race, we must band together and help lead each other, rather than follow corrupt leaders such as the Princes of the Dark hoisted on the world stage by the Priests of Greed.

They gain power by taking it from others. We gain power by empowering others around us.

So let's do that next Tuesday. When people and the media interviewers used to ask me in the past who I planned to vote for, I would usually reply: "Anybody but a Democrat or a Republican."  If you asked me the same question about the Tuesday, Nov 6 vote, I would now add to it, "...or an incumbent."

Let's shotgun all sitting politicians out of office. Unless you know PERSONALLY the candidate who is committed to preserving this planet and all things on it - sentient or inanimate - let's turf them all out. Let's start the new era with a new leadership team.  And if there are only Democrats and Republicans on the ballot, sit on your hands (vote for no one) or write in your own name. Let us no longer play the game of "American Demo Farce."

As president Eisenhower once put it, "I think we have flogged this horse enough. Let's get a new one."

Words Are Cheap; Action Speaks Louder Than Words

"Energy cuts across the entirety of U.S. foreign policy. It’s a matter of national security and global stability. It’s at the heart of the global economy. It’s also an issue of democracy and human rights." (Hillary Clinton, speaking at Georgetown University on Oct 18, 2012)
